Provincial Neighbors

Oroquieta City is the Capital of the province of Misamis Occidental. The surrounding towns and municipalities are Oroquieta's friends and customers. People from these communities have in many ways, contributed to the improvement of Oroquieta's local economy. Aside from that, many of these towns have interesting historical places to visit. For example the town of Jimenez has the oldest church built even before the full colonization of Spaniards in the Philippines. Beautiful and interesting sceneries are also found in these municipalities. For example, the town of Sinacaban has its pristine white beaches while the town of Baliangao has a "cave-like" ocean shores that are potentially great for scuba diving.

Many of Oroquieta's neighboring towns can be a good place to explore where you can find the unusual beauty of the tropics and its people.

Note: To help raise awareness about the existence of our hometowns on the face of the earth, I am urging/encouraging everyone who can contribute any historical article and photographs of our Misamis Occidental towns. Dr. Emerico L. Conol has captured some photographs and it is our wishes to promote our towns to the world.
