What's Happening Recently in Oroquieta City?

Hello, Everyone!!! - Once again, we would like to thank you for your continued appreciation and moral support of our effort to unite Oroquietanians and Misamisnons. True, this website serves as an important vehicle to spread, not only the goodness of the Filipino people, but also the beauty that our homeland possesses. Our heritage is unique, that in many ways we can be proud of who we are, so long as we continue to show and follow the teachings of Jesus Christ.

Oroquieta City needs to continue to grow. The growth is ongoing, slowly but surely. Each of us must unite so that we can accomplish that dream. You and I have a dream that someday we can see our homeland become a desirable place to visit by many different people from all over the world. From that point, we can see how much we have accomplished to serve our people - and these people are the people of God.

Today, business as usual in Oroquieta City. The City continues to receive visitors from different LGUs nationwide almost every week to see and observe the programs and projects that led to winning many awards (yearly) since 1994. Last week, a busload of students from Mindanao State University (MSU) in Marawi City arrived in the City and stayed overnight - for the same purpose to witness the Oroquieta City program and progress.

One of the many projects, such as the Mobod Fish Sanctuary serves as a venue for meeting the minds of our leaders. For example, last Sunday REACTS held their monthly meeting and discussed great plans for their service. Dr. Conol was informed by a staff of the sanctuary that most recently, an Officer of a foreign International Liner came to see the Mobod Fish Sanctuary. How he knew it? - He saw it in our website. He called one of his sailors (who is from Oroquieta) and told him, "I want to see that place." He did come on Saturday, August 30 (a day before Dr. Conol went to the sanctuary - who could have given him more insight about the project). I'm sure that won't be the first time that visitor will come to Oroquieta City.

These my friends are very little things that can start crawling into the City's potential benefits. We may not see it coming fast, but we need to be patient and we must unite to work towards helping our beloved city. Now, let us be thankful and be glad that we can count these as the many tiny, little tidbits of Blessings that God has poured on our beloved city - Oroquieta. Take Care and God Bless!!!
