One of the Philippine Government's counteraction to poverty and people sufferings is delegating many projects at a local level. In Oroquieta City, the project called "The Barangay Self Sufficiency Program" is aimed not only to improve the economic conditions of its citizens, but also work in harmony with the City's Healthcare program.

Through its Barangay counterparts, the City Health Office (CHO) is working on the realization of meeting the healthcare needs of the community. Oroquietanians can now benefit from the CHO's preventive healthcare program. This program's proactive measure does not only enhance the lives of the people, but also promotes longivity. Many preventable complicating diseases are prevented and unexpected deaths are haulted.
